BENTSAI states that it develops and manufactures thermal inkjet (TIJ) printheads, printhead cartridges and coding printers, with microfluidic MEMS technology as a core manufacturing capability. This page explains the manufacturer’s role and how it relates to customers considering BENTSAI coding equipment in Malaysia.

Why printhead manufacturing matters

The printhead is a key component in a TIJ system. Print quality depends on the combined performance of the printhead, ink formulation, cartridge construction, printer drive settings, chip/firmware compatibility, substrate and operating environment. Manufacturer capability can support product development and quality control, but it does not remove the need to select and test the correct cartridge for each application.

For standard coding applications

Customers should begin with the required print content, actual substrate, coating, production volume, operating method and environment. PTS can then recommend a standard handheld or inline option for testing. Water-based and solvent-based cartridges have different intended material ranges, and exact Malaysian printer/chip/firmware compatibility must be confirmed.

For engineering or custom enquiries

BENTSAI also publishes separate manufacturer-level customisation capabilities. Technical feasibility, development scope, prototypes, tooling, minimum order quantity (MOQ), pricing, documentation, testing and lead time are assessed case by case. PTS can collect initial requirements from customers in Malaysia and coordinate the enquiry, but cannot approve a custom specification before BENTSAI’s review.
