The BENTSAI B71 Series is a portable handheld inkjet stamp printer for coding tasks that benefit from controlled positioning. Model variants differ in print height, scanning functions and supported accessories, so selection should begin with the actual application rather than the model name alone.

What the B71 Series can be used for

Depending on the selected model and configuration, the B71 Series can prepare and print text, dates, counters, logos, barcodes, QR codes and selected database-driven content. Typical evaluation areas include cartons, labels, warehouse identification, asset marking and other items that can be positioned consistently during printing.

Key model considerations

• Print height: variants are available for up to 12.7 mm or 25.4 mm print height. Confirm the exact model and cartridge specification.
• On-device editing: the touchscreen supports message preparation without requiring a computer for routine editing.
• Scanning functions: selected “S” variants include scanning features that can support scan-to-print workflows. The source data and final printed result must still be checked by the operator.
• Variable content: counters, barcodes, QR codes and database records may be used where supported. Test the complete data-import and changeover process before production.
• Fixtures and positioning: suitable guides or fixtures can improve alignment on repeated work, but compatibility depends on the item shape, print area and selected accessory.

Material and ink compatibility

The printer model alone does not determine adhesion. Paper, untreated carton and wood behave differently from plastic, glass, foil, coated cartons and painted or oily parts. Water-based and solvent-based cartridges serve different application groups, but no cartridge should be assumed to work on every surface.

Coatings, lamination, surface treatment, oil, dust, moisture, curvature, temperature and handling can change the result. PTS recommends testing the proposed cartridge on the customer's actual sample before purchase or production use.

A practical sample-test checklist

1. Use the actual production material, including its final coating or laminate.
2. Print the approved text, barcode or QR code at the required size.
3. Check alignment and readability over multiple repeated prints.
4. Measure drying time under normal workplace conditions.
5. After a suitable curing period, perform the customer's required rub, handling or scan test.
6. Record the printer model, cartridge, settings and approved result for operator reference.

Important operating expectations

Portable printing still requires correct handling and a reasonably controlled print movement. Battery duration varies with usage, settings, age and operating conditions. The cartridge nozzle may require correct wiping, capping and storage. These printers should therefore be described as portable and relatively low-maintenance, not as guaranteed eight-hour or maintenance-free equipment.

Data and traceability responsibility

A printer reproduces the information supplied to it; it does not validate whether a batch number, QR destination, database record or label statement is correct. Customers should approve the source data, test scanning where relevant and verify their own product, customer and regulatory requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can the B71 print on coated cartons or plastic?

It may be possible with a suitable cartridge, but coating and surface treatment vary. Test the actual sample and required resistance before confirming suitability.

Does scan-to-print remove all input errors?

No. It can reduce manual retyping, but the source barcode, selected record, message layout and printed output must still be verified.
