Handheld use or conveyor coding

The BT-HH6205BL differs from the handheld-only 6205B because the BL model can connect to a photoelectric sensor for automatic coding on a conveyor. The sensor detects a passing item and triggers the print. Before setting up inline coding, confirm the product gap, print position, print direction, line speed and available clearance.

Ink and substrate selection

Choose the cartridge according to the production surface. BENTSAI documents water-based ink for porous and semi-porous substrates such as paper, corrugated boxes, wood, fibreboard and textile. Solvent-based ink is documented for semi-porous and non-porous substrates such as plastic, glass, metal plates, aluminium foil and cables.

Documented colour options are Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Green for water-based cartridges; and Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, White, Green and Invisible for solvent-based cartridges. Maintain an ink throw distance of 2–5 mm between the nozzle plate and the item. Always test the actual substrate, code design and drying requirement before production.

Operation and cartridge care

The BT-HH6205BL has a 4.3-inch HD touch screen, a FREERTOS system and 128M embedded memory. Its battery configuration is two 2600 mAh 18650 lithium-ion batteries, documented for up to 16 hours of operating time. The BL model also supports a DC 9V/2A power supply for inline use.

TIJ cartridges integrate the ink supply and printhead. To reduce the risk of nozzle drying during extended idle periods, remove the cartridge and fit its protective cap in accordance with the manufacturer’s care guidance. Use the correct cartridge and carry out a print trial after changing ink or substrate.
